EN GARDE! is one of the most intriguing Paul Malliki carvings I have seen!
I can't recall a Malliki carving rendered with Muskox horn.
The resulting Narwhal Mates are stunningly beautiful.
Elegant, graceful yet incredibly realistic, Paul has been able to finesse the horn in a manner I have never seen.
In particular, the tail, the fins and the face with its tusk are breathtaking!
The two Narwhals are "dancing" on their tails.
Malliki has generated strength and vitality in the sculptures.
You can feel the rippling of the sea as they cavort in tandem, so happy to be playing together.
Paul Malliki is one of a few Elite Master Inuit Master Carvers.
