**Palaya Qiatsuq SIGNATURE Owl carving

Snowflake's small stature pulls on your heart strings the moment you lay eyes on her.

I love the deep etching of her body, depicting her thick white winter "coat" of feathers.

Her colour is a warm vanilla white.

Her black inlaid eyes are large and innocent but they are wise and all knowing as if she knows the secrets of the world.

Snowy Owls are covered in grey feathers when they are young.

When they reach maturity, Snowy owls will have evolved into that familiar white majestic bird that we equate with the Arctic.

Are you aware that Palaya always carves his owls with asymmetrical wings?

One wing is always larger than the other and is often in a slightly different position.

This posture is more casual than many traditional Inuit Owl carvings which helps the viewer identify this owl as a signature Palaya Qiatsuq sculpture.

Palaya’s owls are in great demand and are coveted by Inuit art galleries and collectors.
