This is an exquisite seal carved by Inuit artist Josie Iqaluq from Sanikiluaq, Nunavut.

What caught my eye with this piece is the jet black stone used. I also particularly like the head of the seal as well as the etching mark spots on the back. Josie Iqaluq's is well known for his playful fun loving seals. They make wonderful gifts for weddings or anniversaries as they convey peace and harmony. It is very symmetrical and round with a gorgeous smooth finish to it. A property amongst Sanikiluaq art which makes it so famous.
