Masterpiece Carving! Museum quality Sculpture!

Matt Flaherty carves many of the best Inuit Bears.

Inuit artists will focus on one or two sizes of Bears but Matt is comfortable and more than capable carving small, medium and large Bears.

He can carve both Walking and Dancing bears.

Dancing bears (who must balance on 1,2,3 or all 4 feet/paws) are extremely difficult to carve.

Not all carvers can produce a Dancing Bear.

BREAKING THE GLASS CEILING is able to stand on one paw and on one foot which makes him a 2 Way Dancing Bear.

I love how his front paws are flexed backward, as if he is pushing on the sky or feeling the inside of an imaginary box like a mime!

Breaking is poised and sophisticated.

His lines are long and his body habitus is ample which is the most popular style of Dancing bears.

People are partial to the Teddy Bear look probably because subconsciously they feel the security and comfort of their childhood stuffed Bear.

Matt has given Breaking a stunning dark green colour with splashes of light green.

The mirror finish gleams!

This is a magnificent carving by one of our favourite Bear artists, Matt Flaherty.
