Magnificent Movement!
There is something so appealing about Diving bears.
Balancing on a front paw requires incredible strength, power and awareness of one's body in space.
What I love about Moe's bears, are their narrow, long and rectangular snouts.
This snout is common to all Pootoogook bears.
Artists from Cape Dorset carve using the Dorset Aesthetic which means the carving is realistic (looks exactly like the real animal) and the artist uses humour in their carving.
I suspect this unique snout is the humour even though it detracts slightly from the realism of the bear.
Eddy is an extreme athlete: he is powerful and proud.
His black stone is flawless and inky. The sheen is superlative.
Eddy will be a wonderful gift for anyone who loves art, animals and creative drive.
