There are many carving styles.
Some are meticulous in their detail.
Some are abstract.
Then there is the simple and straightforward style.
Louie Uttaq has carved this inquisitive bear with love and care.
I love the random green flecks in the black stone. The bear sculpture is more visually interesting like a redhead with freckles!
Our bear has stopped for a moment. Is he scenting the air, intent on a distant sound or looking up to the sky as a bird flys over him?
Notice the slight angle of the bear's head as if he is thinking.
Uttaq has tapped into the raw nature of the bear to carve this enchanting piece.
