I have so much respect and admiration for any carver who can carve a dancing bear.
Mosesee Pootoogook is one of my favourite carvers of small and medium bears.
His bears can be athletic or elegant.
And they are always unpredictable.
This means that Moe always delivers a bear with personality and a certain je ne sais quoi.
This jet-black beauty is diving on his left paw This is the athlete.
His legs and feet are held high in the air, and his right arm is held curved like a ballroom dancer. This is the elegant sculpture.
Pootoogook's pieces flow and move.
This movement is essential to the spirit of a dancing bear.
I am always looking for my next Pootoogook bears>
They are perfect dancing bears.
