Vintage Masterpiece! Museum quality Carving!

WORKING MAN
depicts a scene which occurs every day in the Arctic over and over and over.

This scene is that of a Hunter or a Fisherman who has spent his day looking for seal, or fish or possibly walrus.

If his search is successful and he brings home his catch then his wife and family will be able to be fed and clothed.

Of course, contemporary Inuits are not usually dependent on hunting anymore.

But many continue to supplement their diet with traditional food because it is healthier, cheaper and an important part of traditional Inuit life for centuries.

Working Man is a piece that draws your emotions to the surface.

One look, and I could feel this man's fatigue but also his determination.

He knows he has no choice but to keep going and get this seal home.

But he also has a physical presence that suggests strength.

His colour is a warm caramel that is earthy and traditional.

I have fallen in love with this vintage carving!
