Masterpiece Carving! Museum quality Sculpture!
THE EYE OF AN EAGLE is a rare sculpture of an eagle in midflight carrying a fish in its talons.
Pits is most recognized for his SIGNATURE Owls (which I believe are the best in the world) but occasionally he would carve one of his incredible Eagle/Fish pieces.
Pitseolak Qimirpik (Kimmirut) is one of Canada’s most recognized Inuit artist.
His family, people who knew Pits, and those who loved his work, recently suffered a great loss when Pits and his son were lost in a boating accident.
Pits was an Elite Inuit Master Carver with a large international following.
I particularly admired Pits for his incredible talent especially when he carved his Eagle and Fish sculpture.
The Eye of an Eagle is even more spectacular than all the previous Eagles which were stunning in their colours and execution.
This scene is simple but incredibly potent in its emotion.
All of Pits' MASTERPIECES captured the hearts of serious Inuit art collectors.
We will miss Pits.
No one is capable of replacing the man or his talent.
